About the Series
The AFMC Physician Wellness Webinar and Podcast Series on Addiction is designed to provide physicians, medical educators and students an introspective look at addiction in the healthcare setting. The series explores effective healthcare programs, address barriers to wellness such as cultural norms in the workplace and look at important strategies of early detection and prevention of addiction. This series will delve into risk factors for addiction, generate discussion on the interactions of genetic factors and life experiences, and look at how physicians can recognize and overcome stigma, professionalism, reflective practice, concurrent disorders, chronic disease management model and continuum of care. Each webinar includes an introduction, 35-40 minute presentation, and approximately 10 minutes for discussion. The webinars will be recorded and shared on the Canadian Health Care Education Commons at: www.chec-cesc.ca and on iTunes.
